Richtlinien für das Literaturstipendium eines Stadtschreibers/einer Stadtschreiberin der Stadt Graz
Ausschreibung für den Zeitraum vom 1. September 2010 bis 31. August 2011
Dotation/ Förderungsziel
Die Stadt Graz vergibt jährlich das Literaturstipendium ?Grazer StadtschreiberIn?. Mit der Zuerkennung dieses Stipendiums sind die kostenlose Bereitstellung einer Wohnung im Cerrini-Schlössl am Grazer Schloßberg, jeweils von 1. September des Vergabejahres bis 31. August des folgenden Jahres, sowie eine monatliche Zuwendung von 1100 Euro verbunden. Im Einvernehmen mit dem Kulturamt übernimmt die Kulturvermittlung Steiermark die Betreuung des/der Autors/in.
Ziel ist die Förderung von Literat/Innen, die in ihren Arbeiten Innovationsfähigkeit und Gegenwartsbezug, ästhetische und sprachliche Qualität, Authentizität und künstlerische Eigenständigkeit beweisen. Ihre Anwesenheit in Graz soll dem kulturellen Austausch sowie der Interaktion mit der Literaturszene vor Ort dienen. Die Stipendiat/Innen erklären sich ausdrücklich bereit, während des vereinbarten Jahres mindestens acht Monate in Graz anwesend zu sein.
Von der Bewerbung ausgenommen sind Autor/Innen, die bereits einmal die Funktion des/der Grazer Stadtschreiber/In innehatten. Auf eine regionale Eingrenzung der Ausschreibung wird bewusst verzichtet, um sowohl für den interkulturellen Diskurs mit europäischen als auch außereuropäischen Literat/Innen offen zu sein. Allerdings ist der interkulturelle Austausch ein unverzichtbarer Ansatz der Stipendienvergabe.
Vergabekriterien
· kulturelle und sprachliche Affinität zu Graz
· Grundkenntnisse der deutschen Sprache erwünscht
· mindestens eine selbstständige literarische Publikation (nicht im Eigenverlag) oder fünf unselbstständige Publikationen in Zeitschriften oder Anthologien oder zwei gesendete oder gedruckte Hörspiele oder ein im Theater aufgeführtes oder gedrucktes Bühnenstück
· Bereitschaft, sich auf einen Dialog zwischen Literatur und urbanem Umfeld einzulassen
· Bereitschaft, über Vermittlung des Kulturamtes und der Kulturvermittlung Steiermark nach Maßgabe der Möglichkeiten durch Lesungen, Schulbesuche, Diskussionen etc. Kontakte zur Grazer Szene und Öffentlichkeit zu knüpfen
· Nennung einer konkreten Projektidee, an deren Realisierung während des Aufenthalts in Graz gearbeitet werden soll

· Projektskizze (ca. 2 DIN A4 Seiten) **)

Writer of the City of Graz
Call for applications for the "Writer of the City of Graz" scholarship for the period of September 1st 2010 until August 31st 2011
Donation / Intention of Promotion
The city of Graz awards the "Writer of the City of Graz" scholarship each year. It includes the provision of an apartment for free in the Cerrini-Schloessl on the Schlossberg, from September 1st of the year of awarding until August 31st of the following year, and a monthly allowance of EURO 1.100,--. The Kulturvermittlung Steiermark will supervise the guest in consultation with the City of Graz-Department for Cultural Affairs.
The intention is to promote writers who show innovative ability and examination of current subject matters, quality in aesthetic and linguistic terms, authenticity and artistic independence. The residence in Graz should contribute to cultural exchange and interaction with the local literature scene. The scholarship holders explicitly agree to stay in Graz for at least 8 months during this period.
Writers who already have been "Writers of the City of Graz" in the past cannot apply again for this scholarship.
The submission deliberately does not provide any regional restrictions for the applicants, in order to make intercultural discourse between European and non-European writers possible.
Basic Requirements
· cultural interest in and linguistic affinity to Graz
· basic German language ability
· at least one autonomous literary publication (no private publishing); five published texts in magazines or anthologies; or two already broadcast or published radio plays; or one stage play already performed at a theatre or published
· cooperativeness for a dialog between literature and the local urban environment
· cooperativeness for participation in readings, lectures at schools, discussions etc. arranged by the City of Graz-Department for Cultural Affairs or the Kulturvermittlung Steiermark, in order to connect with the public and the cultural scene in Graz
· working out a proposal for a specific project, which shall be realised during the duration of the stay
